On December 18, 2012, at approximately 2118 hours, Officers of the Hanford Police Department responded to the area of 519 E Elm Street, regarding a hit and run traffic collision. Upon arrival, it was determined that a physical altercation had taken place amongst family members. During this altercation over a vehicle, 20 year old Morgan Riley struck her mother with a Chevy Silverado Pickup truck, causing the victim’s legs to be crushed between the pickup truck and another vehicle.
After realizing what she had done, Riley fled the scene and was later stopped in Lemoore in the suspect vehicle, by KCSO. Riley was taken into custody in the area of Bush and Highway 41.
A search was conducted on the suspect vehicle and as a result, Officers located a methamphetamine pipe and Vicodin without a prescription. Riley was booked into the Kings County Jail for Hit and Run, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of narcotics without a prescription and Possession of narcotic Paraphernalia. The victim was being treated at AMC for injuries to her legs.
