Girl Scouts Looking for all Local Baby Girls Born on their 100th Anniversary, March 12, 2012 | Community Spirit
March 14, 2012 - As part of our celebration of a century of service to girls, Girl Scouts of Central California South is proud to acknowledge girls born on Girl Scouts centennial – March 12, 2012 – as members of the 100th Anniversary Troop. We are looking to connect with mothers of all girls born on this day in Fresno, Kings, Madera, Tulare and Kern counties, so we can keep in touch with them, and invite them to one day join the Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Troop. They will receive a certificate from Girl Scouts and there will be a “100th Anniversary Troop” website, managed by Girl Scouts of the USA so that the parents of these special girls can learn about all that Girl Scouting can offer them. Parents of girls born on March 12, 2012 are invited to contact Julie Medina, Membership Manager, at (800) 490-8653 ext 131, email@example.com.
Thanks to generous donations from the public, baby Faith, born on Monday at 12:15 am in Clovis, received a gift basket to get her started on her Girl Scout journey (pictured below). In Visalia, baby Anessah received a gift basket from Girl Scout Service Unit 12. And in Ridgecrest a baby girl was given a gift basket from Girl Scouts from Ridgecrest.
Girl Scouts celebrate 100 years of girls changing the world!
In 2012 Girl Scouts marked 100 years of inspiring girls and young women with the ideals of courage, confidence and character. Our 100th anniversary year is the “Year of the Girl.” One girl can make a difference but girls together can change the world!
Girl Scouts of Central California South is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting with fun and exciting events in 2012, including our Jamboree May 18 – 20th (Tulare County), Family BBQ – July 28 (Kern County), and our 100th Anniversary Gala – August 25th (Fresno County). There’s no better time to get involved as we prepare for our second century of Girl Scouting in the USA.
