The 2012/13 Winter Holiday DUI Mobilization crackdown on impaired drivers wrapped up-- and resulted in fewer arrests in Tulare and Kings Counties.
Sobriety Checkpoints, Special Saturation Patrols and routine patrols netted 111 arrests from Friday, December 14th to Tuesday, January 1st, 2013.
In 2011/12 183 DUI arrests occurred during the same time period.
There were no DUI related fatal collisions reported during this time.
Law enforcement officials will be conducting more Avoid DUI operations throughout the two counties and region during Super Bowl Sunday in February and then again for local St Patrick’s Day Festivities in March.
