We want to introduce the Old Town Clovis Flea Market. A one-of-a-kind market focused on antique, vintage, repurposed, and handmade goods.” says Julie Gomes, co-producer of the Old Town Flea Market with Karen Chisum, to be held Saturday & Sunday June 8-9th at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds, in Old Town Clovis.

The Old Town Flea Market, a first of its kind in the Central Valley, comes to the Clovis Rodeo Grounds on Saturday & Sunday, June 8-9th. Gates open for sales as early as 8:00 am on Saturday, June 8th, rain or shine.

USDA Opens For Latest Round of Farm-To-School Grants

Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan has released a request for applications (RFA) for the latest round of USDS Farm-to-School Grants.

These grants help eligible schools improve the health and wellbeing of their students and connect with local agricultural producers.

"USDA's Farm-to-School grants connect schools with their local farmers, ranchers and food businesses, providing new economic opportunities to food producers and bringing healthy, local offerings into school cafeterias," said Merrigan.

Holiday lights bring joy to the season, but they can also bring hazards. An estimated 400 home fires involving Christmas trees or holiday lights occur each year in the U.S., resulting in 21 deaths and $25.2 million in direct property damage, according to the National Fire Protection Association and the U.S. Fire Administration.

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) encourages its customers to keep safety in mind as they decorate their homes and trees in the coming weeks. PG&E offers the following holiday lighting safety tips to reduce the risk of fire and injury:

 

·         In addition to being shatterproof and shock resistant, LED lights produce almost no heat, making them safe to touch and greatly reducing the risk of fire.
