Race to Represent 21st Congressional District Getting Crowded | News

Fresno city councilman Blong Xiong announced Friday morning he will be running as a Democrat for the newly–drawn 21st Congressional seat.

The district incleds all of Kings County and parts of Fresno, Kern, and Tulare counties.

He will face john Hernandez in the primary.

Hernandez is the executive director of the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Assemblyman David Valadao, who represents the 30th Assembly District, is the only Republican running for the seat.

He says he’s the only person running who lives in the district.
