Girl Scouts Get Hands-On Experience at Visalia Farm Operation

Girl Scouts Get Hands-On Experience at Visalia Farm Operation

More than 600 girls took over Vossler Farms in Visalia Friday night—to get a hands on look at Agriculture in the Central Valley.

The Girl Scouts of Central California South hosted its 3rd Annual "AgriNation" event.

The event gave the girls an opportunity to learn how their food gets from the farm to their table.

This evening’s activities included: Corn maze, pumpkin patch, face paint, learning about plant DNA, citrus fruits, and popcorn,  along with learning about California’s vital role in agriculture.

“It was such a pleasure to see the curiosity on the girls faces as they learned about clean air, DNA and bad bugs!” says CEO of Girl Scouts of Central California Cathy Ferguson . “On the other hand it warmed my heart to hear the giggles and the laughter while the girls maneuvered the corn maze, splattered paint while constructing their beautiful spin art and sang on the hayrides.  It was great family fun for all.”
